Our Discover card will be paid for this week and I will be removing it and thought what better time for a new ticker!!! The next goal we are working toward is saving for our annual property payment that is due in November. During this time I will also be trying to place extra on my Sallie Mae loan however it will depend on our income over the next couple months!!! I am excited to be onto our next ticker and accomplishing our goals!!

Oh.... how I love paycheck time. It is just yet again one step closer to reaching our goals!!! For the paycheck on 1/30 we are doing the following:
$2220 - going to bills, food, gas, entertainment, school lunch and a little spending cash.
$25 - going to a birthday this month
$20 - going to vet needs for the month
$300 to pay off Discover!! WHOO -HOO!!
$ 200 to buy husband drivers side mirror for his truck
$100 stain and taxes
On a small side note I did file my federal taxes yesterday and I am thrilled with the amount! I will be able to pay for our tractor repairs, pay off the last credit card, purchase landscaping supplies for the spring and my husband and I are going to take a small vacation together. We have not had a vacation without any children or family since before we were married and we need one!!
Between taxes and the paycheck on 2/1 we will be able to take care of all of our short term goals that were set from Dec 2008 - March 2009 and 3 of 7 goals for the year of 2009. (View post for 1/9 for yearly goals) We have also reached these goals a month earlier than planned! Only 4 more goals for the year to go!!

We had a few unexpected checks come in and we were able to place more on it than originally expected! Instead of $1150 we have been able to place $1373.15! Only $300 left!! We will pay this off on 2/1/09!! We are very excited! Also on 2/1/09 we will be taking care of most of the "goal" items that we have on my "goals" sidebar towards the bottom of the blog!

As I have done last year but, didn't really keep up with, I am going to post where our paycheck goes and how much we have placed towards our debt! Right now I am working on paying off my Discover card. I have placed a ticker at the top of the blog to show where we started and how far we have to go! I haven't posted the below amount that we plan to post to Discover until I have physically paid it which will be on Friday.
As for the paycheck on 1/15 here is what we are doing with it:
$2050-
Went to all bills, groceries, gas money and extra money for items that seem to pop up!
$265 -
Went to items for myself. This was my splurge. I took the boys out to dinner, purchased my self new clothes and a few other items. I will say I have not purchased any items for myself since last July so I was due.
$1150-
Went to our Discover card. (Yeah!!)
That about sums it up until the 1st!

I have been pondering this post for quite some time. It has become very difficult to lay out a set plan for our family. My husband is military and his income and my income can vary. Some months there is more income due to deployments, travel and bonuses and other months are his regular pay. The plan I have laid out for 2009 will include only his regular pay (w/o deployment, travel and etc.), his reenlistment bonus he "should" receive in September of this year and a small salary that I receive. The bonus is tentative due to the upcoming change of office in January however the military fiscal year is Oct.-Oct. and the bonus schedule is already set. My husband should qualify for his last bonus of approx $20,000!! (Now you can see my issues with set goals when everything varies in my home.)
By March 2009 Tractor Repair PAID 2/7/09
By March 2009 Truck Mirror Fixed PAID 2/1/09
By March 2009 ALL Credit Cards paid off. PAID 2/7/09
By Nov. 2009 Annual Farm Payments Paid
By Sept. 2009 Truck Paid
By Nov. 2009 Sallie Mae Student Loan Paid (tentative)
By Dec. 2009 $1000 Christmas fund and Property Taxes Paid
We are looking at around $50,000 which seems like an enormous amount of money but keep in mind that my husbands bonus is tax free, tax time is approaching and we are expecting big things this year since I am not working and we have only claimed 1 all year and of course all of the extra pay throughout the year. Whew.... that is a lot!!!
On a last note the Sallie Mae is tentative due to my husbands "extra" pay schedule this year. I am going to try hard to pay it off but I will not sacrifice vacations to see family and our family outings that we have realized over the past year are very important to the happiness of our family.
I hope everyone has already set or at least thought about a financial goal for this year! I also hope everyone reaches their goals just as I hope to!

Now that I have returned from my long vacation I am warming up to the idea of being back to blogging. I really wanted nothing to do with pretty much anything while I was gone to Michigan accept spending time with the family. I will say seeing my family was wonderful but I am thrilled to be home. Fifteen days in cold and snowy Michigan was enough for me! I missed the warm southern Alabama temperature and was tickled pink to have two 70 degree days upon my arrival home :) !!
I did take a few pictures while I was gone but decided against posting them. They are really only pictures of Christmas morning. We were not able to do a lot of outdoor activities like I had originally planned because of the 15in of snow they accumulated in about 4 days and then the 2in of rain which melted all the snow in the 2 days that followed. After the crazy weather it remained cold but lacked enough snow to go sledding or skiing. :(
All in all I am glad to be back in my own house, my own space and back on my own blog!
Please stay tuned for 2009 Budget and Goals and CVS deals!
