I ended up not scoring as many great deals as I had hoped at Publix this week. I also did not grocery shop for as much food as usual since I will not be home to eat it over the holidays! With that being said I will not be posting my Publix week. Trust me it is nothing like the CVS shop!!!

Today is certainly a day that I am glad to be staying home! I woke up 10 minutes before the school bus arrived! I quickly put my oldest through the shower, brushed his teeth, gave him his meds, got him dressed and sent him on his way all in 10 mintues! If I worked I would have never of been able to accomplish that in 10 minutes as well as get myself and 1 year old together too!

As I was sending him out the door I realized what a dreary day it is! The wind was blowing like crazy and it was raining and raining and raining! You can see below that it knocked down my candy cane lights! Again I must say I am glad I stay home with my babies and I am fortunate enough to not have to go out in this mess!

Oh, Please stay tuned for upcoming Publix and CVS shopping!! Coming to a blog near you!

During the months that I was absent from the wonderful world of blogging I added a new store to my shopping list, Publix! I didn't realize the number of great deals they offered or their awesome coupon policy until I started reading more and more blogs. Where I live in Alabama the local store doubles coupons up to $.50 and accepts competitor coupons! Publix is also the place for the cheapest milk and often other items such as potatoes, eggs and etc.

I particularly love to shop there on Mondays. The Sunday paper has a coupon for a mystery item that I can get from Publix if I spend $10 there on Sunday or Monday. The mystery items are usually pretty good. This week it was Nestle Hot Cocoa Mix and last week it was Publix Pizza. The items range from $1.25 to $5.00 and certainly worth purchasing the paper for.

Below I have listed my shop for yesterday. Unfortunately, I did not need many groceries and did pick up a few items I did not have coupons for. All in all I have had better shopping days but, my children are a little bummed that their daddy is away and we decided to splurge on a few comfort items! :)

2 Gallon Milk $6.38
2 Juicy Juice 64oz $3.49 - 2 $1 printable coupons
2 Electrosol Gel $4.39 - 2 $1 printable coupons
2 Pillsbury Refrig. Cookies $4.00 - 1 $1/2 manufacturer coupon
1 Dozen Lg. Eggs Publix $1.89
2 Green Giant 22oz veggie $3.49 -2 $.50 printable coupon doubled to $1 each
1 Welchs Frozen Juice $1.15
1 Publix Premium Ice Cream $3.00
2.11lbs Grapes $3.14
1 5lb Bag Potatoes $1.99
1 Dannon Smoothie $1.00 - 1 Winn Dixie catalina try it Free!
1 Publix Paper Towel $1.34 (free item my Publix was out of cocoa.)

Total: $37.79 w/tax

Total After Coupons: 28.48 w/tax
Total Coupons: $9.31

I am happy to say that between July and October my husband and I were able to place $4500 on our Discover card, which means it is close to being paid off! :) I have slowed down on how much I am placing towards it due to the holiday season, our farm and truck taxes being due, and an annual farm payment for our property back home. I have noticed since I have not been placing as much money towards our debt pay down that I have become a little lacks with how much money we spend throughout the week. With that being said I am going to be placing my spending habits throughout each pay period starting the 15th of the month on the side of the blog. I can log how much I have spent, where I spent it and if it made us go over budget! This way it will again make me more conscious and accountable for the money I am spending. It will be a perfect time to start getting back on track for the coming new year!

Since the weather has started to become cooler over the past month my oldest son Zach has started his "winter chapped lips." Every time the cool season sets in he has chapped lips. I can't tell you how many times I have slabbed the carmex, not only across his lips but chin and cheeks as well. The end result looks like this:

I feel horrible since he cries and between the sniffles says that his lips burn. Tonight he started to have little blisters across his sweet little face. No mother wants to see tears of pain from any child :( Needless to say I think I am going to have to take him into the doctor to hopefully have something prescribed.... this qualifies as a double bummer!

Alright, I need to keep this thing going....

As I was playing around on my typical blog sites this morning I finally had a thought, gosh you should really try to log into your blog again! Low and behold look what happened I have been let in. For 2 months I tried to log into my account and I couldn't! After endless emails and such I finally gave up. That is until today and it finally worked!!! I am hoping to regain my status with the blog world and continue on with my money saving ways. The unfortunate incident though has resulted in the loss of many money saving deals that I have participated in along the way :(
Bummer!!! I guess I should stick to the positive and be happy that I am back!
